Be persistent!
A mistake is not to send your resume to places where experience is required. Tip – you should always send a resume, even if you don’t have the experience that the job posting asks for or you don’t get a call right away. Otherwise, you’re blocking your own path to a job. The employer won’t even know you exist. To begin with, forget the phrase “no work experience” altogether. Don’t write or say this phrase anywhere – neither in your resume nor later at the interview. You can say that you have no record in your workbook. This is not the same as no experience. The expression “no work experience” has a strong negative stigma. The employer may not read anything else but this phrase. Indicate all the internships you had while studying at the university. At this stage, this is your main experience. Anything can be mentioned here: I participated in court hearings, prepared documents in the legal departments of several commercial organizations, prepared an accounting report for a month, wrote and published seven articles on social issues. Often, employers look not so much at experience as at activity, skills, and a desire to develop and learn. If your thesis is of an applied nature, be sure to specify the topic.
Another piece of advice is not to stop at choosing one company. Send your resume to different organizations. The simple absence of a vacancy can lead to the fact that you begin to doubt yourself and your abilities. On top of that, you will lose a lot of time. The secret is how to write a resume correctly if you have no experience – it is important to indicate not knowledge, but exactly where you have successfully used it. This is what experience is.
Work while studying!
The requirements for students are much lower than for young professionals, they are forgiven for all their mistakes, so it is better to get your bumps while you are a student. Alternatively, come for an internship – it’s a good opportunity to stay in the company. The employer gets an energetic employee, and the student gains invaluable experience. This is one of the most effective ways to get a job after graduation. 95% of companies are happy to hire students for internships. And for you, this is a way to get inside the company and prove yourself there. Another option is to apply for a lower position in the firm or for a job that is not even related to your specialty, but which you can do, and then offer constructive solutions to the boss and you will be noticed. I have an acquaintance who is the chief lawyer of a very large firm, and she came there as a secretary. At the same time, she was studying at the law school. In the course of her job, she had to work with documents all the time, and she began to pay attention to some inaccuracies in the papers and suggest ways to solve them to her boss. A year later, she was promoted to associate, and two years later, she became chief lawyer. At that time, she had already received a university degree.
